The project was implemented from 01/08/2018 to 20/10/2018.
The project directly benefited 1,700 people.
The project involved demolishing and removing debris from buildings that were at risk of collapse and damaged due to the war in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, specifically in the areas of Al-Shuhail, Al-Hawaij, Darnaj, Al-Zer, Al-Attal, Thiban, and Al-Takihi.
Project activities included:
- The removal of 61 buildings.
- The area of the demolished buildings was 5,526 square meters, and the volume of debris removed was 8,250 cubic meters.
- A total of 51 murals were completed, featuring messages on topics such as “environmental conservation, promoting cleanliness, water conservation, children’s rights, peace advocacy, and natural landscapes.” An accompanying activity involved painting walls and curbs in the main roundabouts of some targeted areas.
- The total area of the murals was 679 square meters, while the area of walls and curbs painted was 3,012 square meters.
- Filling potholes and cleaning roads surrounding work sites, as well as main roads and roundabouts, covering an area of 6,215 square meters.
